Welcome to My Party (Luv' song)

"Welcome to My Party" is the fourteenth single by Dutch girl group Luv', released in the autumn of 1989 by Dureco/High Fashion records. This song appears on the EP For You
and is the group's comeback record since their 1981 single Tingalingaling and was recorded by a new formation: Marga Scheide (the only original Luv' singer) and two new members, Michelle Gold and Diana van Berlo).
==Song History==
In late October 1988, the original Luv' girls (Scheide, Hoebee and Brard) reunited for a Dutch TV charity show (Samen) and performed their biggest hit You're The Greatest Lover. This comeback was unexpected and provoked an enthusiastic reaction among the trio's fans. Luv' planned to record new material. The famous British producers Stock Aitken Waterman were announced to produce it. However, this project never happened. In
early 1989, José Hoebee and Patty Brard didn't want to belong to the group anymore. Marga Scheide formed a new Luv' act with two other singers: Michelle Gold and Diana van Berlo. The ladies signed a record deal with the Dutch labels Dureco/High Hashion Music.
Hans van Hemert and Piet Souer, who originally conceived the Luv' concept, were not involved in this version of the female formation. With the help from Marga's partner, Jacques Zwart (a.k.a. E. Mergency), a new musical direction was chosen and the British producer Nigel Wright was hired to produced new recordings. Wright was a veteran of the English Dance scene thanks to the hits he produced for Shakatak, Imagination, Mirage and other bands. Luv' recorded in Weesp a mini-album (''For You'') which was engineered in London and was inspired by the PWL sound that dominated the European music production in the late 1980s. Dureco/High Fashion Music decided to release the Pop-Dance song "Welcome To My Party" as a single to mark the return of Luv'. This track was a Top 30 in the Netherlands and in Flanders (Belgium).
